Hammer Time!

It has been awhile, and for a short while I was trapped in PA with the wife and the 'rents. Damn you hurricane Sandy! Fortunately the area we were in was barely scathed, and we only suffered from high winds, minor power outage and hard rain.

I have been working on my 'hammer barbarian'. While not complete, there are only two major things that need to be worked on: the wrappings on his calves and some touch ups on the hands. I am debating if I should add the two little swords that are barely seen in the original artwork as adding them to the model itself looks bulky. Either way he is about 95% done and then I can add on his free flow necklace, hair strands and bracelets.

To keep my sculpting brain fresh I will be working on some side projects that will include minimal sculpting (or so I hope), and some scratch building, to not burnt out.

The Crane

Recently I have taken a new found interest in Mordheim. While the game is outdated and the rules are kinda bunk, it is a game system full of modeling possibilities. So I have been working on a Mordheim Beasts war band. While I really enjoy the satyr-goat men GW produces I wanted mine to look like ‘other’ beasts of chaos. While a beast is generally defined as a four legged animal, I am going to take that definition loosely. My beast men will be animals that have taken a humanoid form, and have beastial qualities. I am starting my war band with a shaman who has taken the form of a wise Crane. While it is still a WIP I have yet to determine what kind of staff to give him. He will more than likely be semi robed and have some nice grimy bits akin to Mordheim. I am unsure of what other random animals I will be including into my war band right now but am open to suggestions.

The ‘Hammer Barbarian’ as I now call him, is coming along. The head has been attached and the hair has been blocked out, however no new pictures yet.

I have returned, again...

Well summer has certainly been keeping me busy. I won’t go into too much detail but lets’ just say I found an old digital camera and flash drive with lots of nice goodies on them! I have added a ‘Sculpture’ tab that showcases some finished and ongoing projects. Also here are some things I have been working on. So check out that new tab! Hopefully I will continue to have more regular updates.

Here we have some muscle, scale, and pose studies for a 'Sigmar' diorama I am working on.

I really liked the new Tomb Kings by GW. So I thought I would convert one. The picture isn't to great but it features different set of arms, weapon and head repositioning and some minor sculpting to give him a unique scorpion helmet, and some adding wrappings.

At last I finally got around to taking some pictures of the generic Myconid torsos. Though having recently reviewed the Myconids I have made, I am almost temped to re-do them all...

Here tacked in place Myconid. He has some nice new generic arms too. Though something really makes me want to do something about the thickness of the head-stalk of the figure. It appears to be to thick.

Either way I am hoping that people will become interested in these guys. Enough to get me back on track to casting them! I will not be doing a kickstarter program, that scams gotta stop.

Upcoming projects will include: Nautilus Gladiator, Racin' Herman & Grandpa Munster commission sculpts, a Gallery tab for painted models and possibly a tab for fine art.

Well it is about time I got around to doing my first post!
Pariah-Miniatures is proud to present: The Fungali (stand in name)
More of these spore-men will be coming with: various poses, weapons, armor (in their case fungus) styles, mushroom caps, and more!

I probably should have used a wash to pick out the detail. More variants of this are being worked on and weapon concepts are being flushed out atm.
